Each scholarship is valued at $40,000 and open to Australian citizens or permanent residents directly involved in food and fibre production typically aged between 28 and 45. The bursary allows scholars to travel overseas both individually and in small groups.

APPLICATION AND CONFERENCE
Eligibility
The Scholarships are open those who are:
1. Typically between 28-45 years of age. (Please note that exceptional candidates outside this age range will be considered);
2. Citizen or permanent resident of Australia;
3. Engaged in farming, horticulture, fishing or associated industries; and
4. Intending to remain involved in food and fibre industries in Australia.
Regard will be given to the value of the experience that the applicant will gain through the study.
All scholars must write a comprehensive report about the research findings.

Applications for 2025 scholarships are now open and will close 31 May 2024.
There are more than 20 Nuffield Scholarships on offer annually, each valued at $40,000.

Conference
Our National Conference is the highlight of the Nuffield calendar. It offers a meeting point for scholars, investors and the broader agricultural industry. All newly selected scholars attend this event to be formally awarded their scholarship.
Our 2023 National Conference was held in Perth, Western Australia, where 25 new scholars were awarded 2024 Nuffield Scholarships. The two-day conference was followed by a 2-day regional tour.
Our 2024 National Conference will be held at in Launceston, Tasmania, from 2-4 September 2024.
